“Not only is it a great book for children but will also make adults think next time they see a big old tree. Wouldn’t it be good if all trees could talk, what a story they would have to tell”

I really must congratulate you on your beautiful book: the illustrations are startling and capture the essence of the animal or plant wonderfully!
I love the timeline idea and gives children (and adults!) lots to think about; brilliant!
I have now ordered 6 more and hope you might find time to write the message… many thanks for your inspiration, Morag! I used to love as a child, books with pictures in which animals were hidden skilfully among the branches or roots or anything else: I don’t see any modern equivalent of these and you do it splendidly!

My eldest grandson loves the book. I have just ordered him his own copy and two for my youngest grandsons.

My books arrived this morning. Thank you so much for signing them and sending tree hugs! I had to read it three times in a row to my 4 year old grandson and then his mum and his auntie had to read it too!

Thank you so much Morag for the thoughtful message inside my grandson’s copy which arrived today! I hope he’ll love the book as much as I do. In honour, and from now on… our wee oak sapling will be known as Little Knobbley!

This book is a real treasure. My granddaughter loves it and was enchanted by the stories, which brought her joy in this old tree to life. The book will help children to connect history and nature, and to understand the link between them: all the sights and sounds ancient trees will have lived through. Another important strand is the saving and nurturing of this tree through the centuries by people who knew how important he and other beautiful trees are for us all. Thank you Morag for this lovely, special book.

For every two books sold one tree will be grown with WeForest.org in an Agroforestry project in Tanzania.

Seedlings are grown in a nursery and distributed to the people that need it most: women-lead households or families hosting orphans get priority. Local schools also get seedlings (often fruit trees) to plant on their school premises.
